For PPARgamma knockdown assays, the medium was replaced 36 hr after transfection of the preannealed oligo, and cells were stimulated with LPS another 12 hr later in the absence or presence of CO. Data are representative of 3 independent samples. Statistical analysis was made by using Student's t test. Results were considered statistically significant at p < 0.05." ;
