VEGF also induced activation of VEGFR-2. VEGF induced ERK1/2 activation was totally blocked by pretreatment with specific ERK1/2 inhibitor U0126. Inhibition of ERK1/2 activation also inhibited VEGF induced proliferation, where as inhibition of PKC or PI3K had no effect, suggesting that VEGF induces receptor mediated activation of ERK1/2 leading to proliferation in glEND.2 cells." ;
